As riots intensify in Hong Kong between protesters and local authorities, it would appear that these very same protesters have taken to indiscriminately attacking anybody that they find to be suspicious, as this story by Sing Tao Daily goes to show.

In an unprovoked attack committed by Hong Kong protesters, a Japanese tourist fell victim to a vicious beating after he was mistaken for a Chinese mainland national on 11th November 2019.

The incident took place between Argyle Street and Nathan Road in Kowloon at 5pm in the evening after he was seen filming the ongoing protests that were occurring in the area.

The Japanese tourist can be seen leaning against a shuttered storefront, visibly bleeding from his head. Thankfully, first-aiders who were on the scene managed to attend to his injuries. Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi has confirmed that a Japanese man had been injured during the protests on 12th November 2019.

He is reported to have received further treatment in hospital and has since been discharged.
