While some residents in Kelantan continue to cry for access to clean water, the caretaker deputy MB of the state continues to justify the water issue, saying “it’s not a big deal.”
Mohd Amar Abdullah recently dubbed the water issue in Kelantan “not a big deal” because the villages there make do with what they have – and they are able to dig a well to get clean water underground. This time, Amar came up with another reason to prove that water issue in Kelantan is not as serious as the public perceive.
“They can shower 3 times a day”
Amar said that even if the unity government wins Kelantan in the state polls, he is sure that the water issue in Kelantan will NOT be resolved. Regardless of which party governs the state, to Amar, it doesn’t matter because the problem will continue to exist.
Why is the water issue STILL not an issue? Amar said,
“People can still shower 3 times a day, and it’s not that they cannot get a single drop of water.”
To prove his point, Amar added that water issue exists in other states too, such as Selangor and Penang.
“Those states are facing water issues too. I don’t think changing the government will fix water issue.”
Exaggerating game is strong
The caretaker deputy MB also said that the water issue in Kelantan is merely a topic of debate for other political parties to “hype” the matter up, without actual solutions being provided to the state government, reported Sin Chew.
Amar said that Kelantan has always been described as the state without water, when in reality, only certain areas and districts are facing the crisis.
Do you think Amar has a point here, or do you think the real issues are not being entirely highlighted?
