The man suspected of being involved in the case of using an improvised explosive device (IED) in Nilai is believed to have made the device out of anger and resentment toward his ex-girlfriend who left him five years ago.
Nilai District Police Chief Superintendent Johari Yahya said the 62-year-old suspect often spoke to a neighbour about his disappointment with his former girlfriend.

“However, questioning is still ongoing, though somewhat limited due to the suspect’s poor health condition as he is still receiving treatment. So far, statements from 24 witnesses have been recorded,” he said in a statement.
Remand extended for seven days
Earlier, the man’s remand was extended for seven days starting tomorrow after the initial remand period ended today.

Previously, Negeri Sembilan Police Chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad reported that the suspect in the explosion case, which occurred on the morning of December 22, was arrested around Batang Benar, Nilai, at 4:15 PM on December 27, with burn injuries on his face, body, hands, and legs.
The suspect is believed to have technical knowledge and specialised skills in making explosives based on the discovery of devices and equipment seized from his rented house.
