According to Sinar Harian, the accident occurred at Jalan Felda Sahabat 16 in Lahad Datu, Sabah, on the afternoon of 21 June.

The 44-year-old police officer drove the police van towards Pantai Sahabat 16, said the Lahad Datu district police chief Assistant Commissioner Dzulbaharin Ismail.

“When he reached the location, a tree that was on the side of the road suddenly fell right on the van that was driven by the victim.”

He continued: “The accident was witnessed by another police officer who was riding the motorcycle in the opposing lane.”
