The police are investigating an incident in which a man was seen sitting cross‑legged on a highway, causing traffic congestion along Kilometre 290 of the North–South Expressway (NSE), following the circulation of a viral video on social media.
Kajang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said authorities became aware of the incident after the video was uploaded on Facebook at 3:55 PM on Saturday (24 January).

Initial investigations found that the incident occurred at around 12:30 PM last Thursday. The man, believed to be a lorry driver, had reportedly parked his vehicle on the emergency lane before sitting cross‑legged in the first lane of the expressway without any apparent reason.
“The act caused traffic congestion and posed a danger not only to the individual involved but also to other road users,” Naazron said in a statement.
He added that the case is being investigated under Section 48(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for obstructing traffic, as well as Section 336 of the Penal Code for acts endangering the safety of others.
