Poh Kong, Malaysia’s largest jewellery retail chain, was deeply honoured to welcome Duli Yang Maha Mulia Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin, D.K., S.P.M.S., S.S.I.S., S.P.M.K., Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, for the official launch of the Anggun ‘Pesona Tanjung’ series at the company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Shah Alam. In an occasion that brought together royal heritage, creative excellence, and Malaysia’s growing stature as a regional hub for fine jewellery innovation.

The ‘Pesona Tanjung’ series marks a new chapter for Poh Kong’s Anggun collection — a signature line celebrating the elegance, strength, and grace of women across Asia. Inspired by Selangor’s official state flower, the Bunga Tanjung (Mimusops elengi), the series embodies its nine petals as symbols of unity, purity, and resilience, reflecting the harmony between Malaysia’s cultural heritage and Poh Kong’s mastery in modern craftsmanship.

By hosting the event at its manufacturing headquarters, Poh Kong underscored how its local production ecosystem fuels both creative innovation and business resilience. Established in 2001 with an initial RM30 million investment, the Shah Alam facility has become the heart of the company’s operations, blending precision technology with artisanal skill to deliver consistent quality and design excellence. Continuous upgrades to machinery, IT systems, and sustainable production practices ensure that every piece meets world-class standards while preserving traditional craftsmanship. The site also houses a 4,000 square-foot training centre dedicated to nurturing Malaysian talent, reflecting Poh Kong’s belief that its people remain the true foundation of its success.

For nearly five decades, we’ve grown alongside Malaysians, expanding our retail presence and investing in local talent to strengthen the nation’s position as a leader in fine jewellery. Our vision is to continue setting new standards for design, quality, and business integrity, ensuring Poh Kong remains a name that generations can take pride in.”

Ms. Christine Choon, Managing Director of Poh Kong Jewellery Manufacturer Sdn Bhd added, “We are deeply honoured by the presence of D.Y.M.M. Tengku Permaisuri Selangor at this meaningful launch of the Anggun ‘Pesona Tanjung’ series. For more than 40 years, Poh Kong has brought together the art of goldsmithing and Malaysia’s cultural heritage. The Anggun collection reflects this harmony, inspired by the beauty, grace, and strength of women, and realised through the skill of our artisans. As we approach our 50th anniversary in 2026, we take pride in the people who have built this legacy and continue to shape Poh Kong’s enduring story.”

The royal launch culminated in an 8-minute showcase where models presented all five floral inspirations under the Anggun collection, including the latest ‘Pesona Tanjung’ series through a narrated fashion performance. The segment vividly expressed the collection’s cultural inspiration and contemporary artistry, celebrating how Malaysia’s traditions continue to shape modern design and craftsmanship.
