What a day it has been indeed…

The day started out relatively normal for Malaysians who are still in lockdown when an announcement came from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), saying that our Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin, has been hospitalised due to diarrhoea. It was reported that Muhyiddin started having the condition on Tuesday night (29 June) and was later hospitalised the next morning for treatment and monitoring.

Unsurprisingly, Malaysians on social media have had a field day of the whole issue making fun of the whole situation. This includes political cartoonist, Fahmi Reza, making a simple but powerful image.

Soon, #PMCirit and #KerajaanCirit began trending on Twitter and one user even noticed that the news of the PM’s bowel movements has made international headlines. Prominent portals including the U.S.News and The Times of India covered news of Muhyiddin’s hospitalisation.

Overall, Malaysians have been pretty embarrassed that this news even made international headlines. On a more serious note, Malaysians have also called out the Prime Minister’s Office for even disclosing this information to the public.
