The Prime Minister’s office has debunked rumours over the weekend that Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is a former cancer patient, needs to undergo treatment due to a relapse.

“The Prime Minister has been certified cancer-free by the medical professionals who treat him,” the statement said.

The rumours allegedly surfaced amongst the rakyat over the weekend while waiting for the official announcement regarding the time of Muhyiddin’s live press conference.

Muhyiddin has since announced that he will address the nation about the Covid-19 situation and whether a ‘Movement Control Order 2.0’ would be implemented at 6pm today (11 January).

The statement also denied the rumors that Muhyiddin would be appointing a Deputy Prime Minister.

We hope that the Prime Minister’s announcement would be favourable to the Covid-19 status and the economic situation in the country and that we will slowly see the number of cases decrease.
