Patience is a virtue, as the saying goes. If you’re willing to wait for something for long enough, the payoff is usually worth it in the end. A pretty good way to live life, don’t you think? Well, sure. Unless you’re a thief!
In a story reported by The Star, a robber had the patience to sit for one and a half hours to get his teeth fixed by a dentist before robbing and almost killing her in the process.
The incident, which happened in Petaling Jaya, features a man with true nerves of steel as he came into the dentist’s office for a root canal procedure at 9.30am yesterday (26th September 2019). He registered at the receptionist with a MyKad belonging to someone else.
Then, he entered the dentist’s office and underwent the procedure, which took over one and a half hours. If you’ve ever had a root canal procedure done, you’ll know that it’s never a comfortable experience. It can even be pretty painful!
As the procedure was completed, the unthinkable happened: the man got up, slashed the dentist on the neck and stole her handbag! The injury she sustained could have been lethal, as it almost scraped her jugular.
According to Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din, “Checks with the National Registration Department revealed the MyKad belonged to a man named Murali.”
Security camera footage also showed a thin man with a dark complexion running away from the scene with a black handbag in hand, belonging to the dentist. The victim sustained losses of RM2,000 as well as important documents that she had in her bag.
She is reportedly in stable condition and is being treated in Assunta Hospital. Police are still on the lookout for the suspect.
We hope that the robber will be caught and brought to justice, and that the dentist will recover soon!
