A woman, who is among the victims of the pipeline explosion in Putra Heights on Tuesday (April 1), is currently going viral online.
In a TikTok video by 热点Hotspot Malaysia, the woman claims that developers had encroached into the fenced-off land where the gas pipeline was laid to build a parking lot for the shoplots they developed there.

She said, “There was a piece of land, a pocket land, they went and built 10 shoplots there. Because there is no (space) for parking lots, they opened up the fencing to Petronas’s reserve land, and started digging to do car parking lots.”
“So, I suspect that during that process, something would have hit the (pipeline). Although they’ve sealed (the pipeline), it exploded.”
The woman went on to claim that the construction crew had trespassed into about 8 feet of the reserve land.

“And then they dug in very deep inside and they sealed it up nicely. The big hole that you see on social media, that’s the place that they were digging,”
“They shouldn’t have been doing anything on that pocket land. That pocket land is so small. I don’t know why the authorities approved (the development project),” she added.
According to a report by NST, the police are currently investigating the claims that digging work was done within the Petronas reserve land.
