Netizen Tie Ruzilawati took to social media a few days ago, about a little girl who asked for her help while waiting for her son at their school.
Truly a story of hardship, she share how a little child who had little on her, wore stained clothes and worn-out shoes, asked for money to buy water and returned the balance stating that she only needed enough to buy water.
Here is Tie Ruzilawati’s story.
“There was a little girl at the school who came to me asking for money to buy water. I gave her some, and she returned the balance, saying that she only needed enough to buy water.”
“She told me her family gave her RM3 to take to school. So I thought to myself, is RM3 enough for a child to go through a day of school?”
Thinking that it was probably all her family could afford, the woman asked her if her mother would come by and pick her up.
The little girl replied: “My mother has passed away. I live with my grandmother and father. Because of work, my father comes home at midnight.”
The netizen then noticed that the girl’s clothes were not taken care of, with shoes that were no longer fit to wear.
“I told her to meet me at the same place again tomorrow. I said that I will bring her new shoes.”
The little girl hugged her and asked if she really wanted to give her new shoes.
“As a mother, I cried when she hugged me. I can’t imagine if I made my son go through what she is experiencing right now.”
Garnering over 1.9k shares and 4.2k likes, netizens responded to the social media post and did all they can to help the little girl.
“When I met her the very next day, she beamed at me, excited that she was about to get new school shoes.”
“I could only pray the best for her, and hope that she will succeed in all her future endeavours.”
