The King has evolved.
Yesterday, Perodua officially launched a new model for Myvi with better safety features which is known as Perodua Smart Drive Assist (PSDA). The new features include the Advance Safety Assist (ASA), Driving Assist, Parking Assist, and Head Lamp Assist, as reported by Astro Awani.
Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad revealed that ever since the car was opened for reservation 9 days ago, they have received 4,303 bookings, and he believes the company will manage to sell 6,000 units of the car on a monthly basis.
The new Myvi, which cost RM50 million to develop doesn’t just come with a new sporty look, but also advanced technology as well as increased fuel efficiency. All the new variants under the new Myvi will also feature a new transmission, known as the Dual Mode Continous Variable Transmission (CVT) that replaces the 4-speed transmission.
It also provides a powerful and smooth acceleration at low speeds and will make the vehicle quieter on the road. The new variants include,
- 1.5 litre AV (advanced)
- 1.5 litre H
- 1.5 litre X
- 1.3 litre G
- 1.3 litre G (basic)
Additionally, Zainal also said that the full suite of these features can be found in the Advance Variant (AV) variant, which qualifies it as an Autonomous Level 2 technology car.
“This is also the first time in Malaysian history that a car company is offering a car with Autonomous Level 2 technology under the price of RM60,000,” he added.
The prices of the new variants range from RM45,700 to RM58,800.
In terms of colour, Perodua has these colours for the buyers to opt from, which are,
- Cranberry Red (only available for AV variant)
- Lava Red
- Ivory White
- Glittering Silver
- Granite Grey
- Electric Blue
All variants are only available in automatic transmission as Perodua has ceased all manual transmission.
