Consumers are urged to check the authenticity of products claiming to be from Palestine before purchasing them.

According to a report by BERNAMA, there were several complaints about products claiming to be of Palestinian origins.

One of the largest soap manufacturers in Palestine, Al Jamal, had contacted Al’Ard Far East Sdn Bhd director Nazran Abd Mutalib to ask for help countering the sale of counterfeit Al Jamal products in Malaysia.

Nazran clarified that only a few companies in Malaysia have obtained export verification certificates from the Palestinian side thus far.

“There are several products which purportedly come from Palestine that have been sold in the market. Therefore, I remind the public to always be vigilant and not be deceived into buying these fake products.”

The Palestinian Ambassador to Malaysia, Walid Abu Ali, also recently launched the ‘Palestin Di Setiap Rumah’ campaign, the main aim of which is to combat the sale of counterfeit “Palestinian” products.

Walid mentioned that the best way to support the people of Palestine is to buy their original products.

“Palestinians do not want sympathy. We do business as a way to improve the economy. Therefore, I would like to appeal to Malaysians to check the authenticity of products which come from Palestine before purchasing, to avoid fake products.”

Remember to do a check first before making any online purchases!
