One week after Harith Iskander’s show was cancelled, Malaysian singer and rapper Namewee has voiced out against the former’s fate.

In his Facebook post, Namewee showed support for the Malaysian comedian who was under fire following his controversial “Ham Sap Kopi” joke, which resulted in multiple police reports from the public and an investigation from PDRM.

To Namewee, Harith was merely expressing his opinions which differed from many people.

“Just imagine you are expressing your opinions on Facebook. and then your career is gone after people lodged police report against you.”

He added, “Today, you criticise others. Tomorrow, you might face oppression. Think about it.”

In his post, Namewee also lamented about the lack of free speech that was promised in Malaysia and voiced his support for free speech, as well as Harith.

“Say no to all forms of oppressions against free speech!”

Earlier, Harith and his ex-wife, Dr Jezamine Lim, decided to cancel the show following the death threats made on their family.
