Breakfast is the most important meal of the day (tho every meal is important if you ask me). A good breakfast with the right amount of deliciousness can set you up for a great day, and we’ve found just the perfect one for you. No, it’s not roti canai or nasi lemak.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet the perfect breakfast sandwich from a stall called Top Taste Bread.
Located in Perai, Penang, this stall is operated by two sisters and they’ve managed to turn ordinary sandwiches into sandwiches fit for a king!
Many locals would make a quick breakfast stop at the stall and enjoy the sheer variety of sandwiches offered by the sisters. The choices of fillings include bak kua (pork jerky), meat floss, ham (chicken and pork), fried egg, sardine, shrimp paste sambal, fish fillet and pork chop.
The best part is that you get to choose your favourite ingredients to create a personalised and unique kick-ass sandwich for yourself! Of course, the most popular choice is their signature pork chop sandwich. The meat is described as juicy, tender and packed with flavour! Add a slightly-runny fried egg on top and you will have the best sandwich in the world!
Sandwiches aside, half-boiled eggs are also a default breakfast option for many Malaysians, but the only thing that ruins the experience is that they tend to get cold fast. To solve this problem, the half-boiled eggs here are served in a cup placed inside a warm water bath, which is contained in a bigger stainless steel mug to retain heat and prevent the temperature from dropping too quick. Genius!
This means that after devouring all the sandwiches, your half-boiled eggs would still remain warm and not stone cold. Good thinking, sisters!
