The SPM results were recently released, and more than 10,000 students in the nation scored Straight As. As former students, we know how tough it was to burn the midnight oil and keep track of our studies so that we could ace the exams.
When it was time for a break, we took a nap or let off some steam with video games. For a straight-As scorer in Penang, he indulged himself by listening to Blackpink songs and watching their dance. We guess Blackpink has always been his area.
According to a report by New Straits Times, as opposed to the popular study routine, Bhuvenraj Ganesh did not stay up late or wake up early in the morning to study. He functions better in the afternoon or during the night, and it is also about studying smart.
“I referred to past years’ questions to understand the answering techniques, and the tips to score and help me in High-Level Thinking Skills (KBAT),”
When he needed a break, Blackpink came to the area. The songs of the South Korean girl group eased his mind, and watching their dance videos helped too.
Bhuvenraj was accompanied by his parents when he returned to Penang Free School to get his results, and despite his good results, he admitted that it was not always a smooth journey.
When it came to Biology, he found it challenging because he’s not a fan of subjects requiring much memorisation.
“I don’t like subjects that I need to read or memorise a lot. I enjoy Maths but I certainly did not expect to score straight As.”
His love for Maths is undeniable, as he has a YouTube channel to help those in need with the subject. The channel was set up after he completed his SPM examinations.
When asked about his future plan, Bhuvenraj said he would pursue A-Levels at a local college before eventually deciding what to do next.
To all the straight As scorers out there, congratulations on passing the “1st barrier” into adulthood. Your efforts and hard work have definitely paid off.
As for those who did not score well, remember that there are more opportunities for you to explore out there, and this is not the end of the road.
