A Malaysian boy is being praised for his dedication to caring for his differently-abled parents.
Famous Penang eatery Nasi Kandar Sulaiman (NKS) took to its Facebook page to share how the boy and his parents had travelled from Kuala Lumpur (KL) to Penang for the second time and had dropped by the eatery to enjoy a meal.

The caption reads, “This family came to NKS again to enjoy nasi kandar. The mum and dad have visual disabilities; they are blind. It is their son who brought them. They came from KL. Last year, they came to NKS too. At that time, we treated them to their meals using donor funds.”
“This year, almost a year later, they came again to enjoy nasi kandar. This time, we treated them to their meals again using donor funds. They didn’t know we were going to treat them. When it came time to pay, I informed them. They were very happy.”
An example of a devoted child
What attracted the eatery’s staff was the son’s behaviour towards his differently-abled parents, showing absolutely no disdain or dissatisfaction over taking care of them.

“Although the challenges they face are very big, they are happy to continue living. This is because their child takes care of the 2 of them very well. Their child doesn’t feel ashamed at all to go out with the 2 of them. Even though there were so many other customers, their child took care of them with a smile on his face.”
“He didn’t show any anger or complain at all. Taking care of (differently-abled) parents is not easy; it is a very big challenge. But this young brother takes care of them with love,” they added.
They went on to urge others to look to the boy as an example of how a child should treat their parents.
“In this day and age, we see many kids feeling embarrassed to go out with their parents who look old or sick, but look at this little brother, still smiling and going out with his (differently-abled) parents and taking very good care of them. He values them both. This is a good example for all children.”
