A cafe in Penang has decided to remove takeaway charges on its cakes after someone highlighted the charges in a Facebook post.
The netizen, Eugina Kang, took to the 槟城有什么好料吃 Facebook group to claim that the cafe had charged her friend 10% as a takeaway charge for the cakes she had ordered, without informing her of the charges beforehand.

She wrote, “Please be alert when you plan to take away the cakes from Khing Cafe, they will charge you 10% (for) takeaway without informing you when you make the payment!”
She also clarified in the comment section that the purchase was done by her friend, who made the payment due to time constraints and only noticed the 10% takeaway charge later.
The cafe decided to remove the takeaway charge
Taking to their Instagram account, Khing Cafe issued an apology and announced that they are removing the takeaway charge on their cakes.

They wrote, “Dear valued customers, thank you for your continued support and understanding towards Khing Cafe. To make your experience even more enjoyable, we have decided to remove the takeaway packaging fee for cakes.”
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused in the past, and truly appreciate your patience and support. You’re always welcome to visit us for a cup of coffee and a slice of our mille crepe cakes. May every visit to Khing Cafe be sweet and delightful.”
