It’s no secret that bribery is a huge problem within the Malaysian justice system, especially with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

Which is why it is saddening to see how bribery may very well still be rampant with police officers.

The 我们是马来西亚人 We are Malaysians Facebook page recently showcased footage of a PDRM traffic police officer accepting a bribe from what appeared to be a lorry driver.

The ‘我们是马来西亚人 We are Malaysians’ Facebook page wrote, “Money for coffee.”

In the video, the PDRM traffic police officer appeared to be checking the documents of the lorry driver. Then, a hand can be seen handing over money to the officer, who then folded the cash and pocketed it.

Calls for the pair to be brought to justice

The video has gone viral and plenty of netizens have commented on it and called for both the traffic officer and the lorry driver to be brought to justice.

“Arrest both of them to be fair.”

“Both are wrong. I hope that action is taken against the giver and the receiver. Clean up the country from the sickness that is bribery,” said another user.
