On 27 March 2021, 32 year-old famous Malaysian actress Neelofa tied a knot with her 26 year-old husband and held their wedding ceremony in a reputable hotel.

Since then, many photos of the ceremony were shared online. The photos showed that the wedding ceremony was grand and the event place was filled with beautiful white flowers, with all guests wearing white coloured outfits.

The photos also showed a great number of guests at the wedding ceremony. Besides, all guests in the photos also seem to not practice social distancing, as they were sitting closely beside one another.

Many netizens think that the couple was flouting the government’s SOPs. Although social activities including wedding ceremonies are now allowed, the number of guests is limited to only 20 people in CMCO areas, and not more than 30 people in RMCO areas.

According to Info Roadblock JPJ/POLIS, police has already opened papers to investigate the couple’s wedding ceremony for allegedly breaching the SOPs. The police chief of Dang Wangi district said that the case will be investigated under Section 21A Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342).
