PDRM Confirms Tragic Incident at Pickleball Facility in KL, Case Classified as Sudden Death

A man tragically fell to his death from the 3rd floor of a building in Pudu, Wangsa Maju, while trying to retrieve a pickleball ball on Tuesday (2 December).

According to a report by Berita Harian, the Wangsa Maju Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Lazim Ismail, shared that, before the incident, the 32-year-old victim was playing pickleball with several friends on the 3rd floor of the building involved.

“The victim had climbed a fence next to the court to retrieve a ball before falling,”

“The police received a report of the incident at 9:43 pm, and the case has been classified as sudden death (SDR),” he said.

 

A statement by the pickleball venue

In an Instagram Story, the pickleball venue where the tragic incident occurred sought the public’s understanding in respecting the privacy of those affected and urged the public to refrain from speculation.

They wrote, “We are deeply saddened by a tragic incident that occurred at our (KL) facility, which resulted in the loss of a life.”

“At this time, we ask for understanding and compassion as we respect the privacy of the family and loved ones affected. We kindly urge the public to refrain from speculation while the appropriate authorities carry out their investigations.”

They ended their post by sharing that their thoughts are with the family of the victim involved.
