Earlier today (15 January), it was reported that a Malaysian woman confronted an elderly woman who was allegedly seen abusing a toddler aged approximately one in public at Taman Daya, Johor.
The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has since clarified that there was no abuse involved.

Harian Metro quoted Johor Bahru South District Police Chief ACP Raub Selamat as confirming that the department received a report regarding the incident. He further revealed that the elderly woman is the grandmother of the two children involved.
He added that the case was classified as “No Further Action” (NFA) because there was no element of abuse.

Raub asserted, “We confirm that we have received a police report following concerns about the safety of the children in the incident that occurred yesterday, at approximately 10:20 AM in Taman Daya.”
“Initial investigations found that they have a family relationship, namely a grandmother and two grandchildren, whom she has taken care of since birth. There is no element of abuse, and there are no injuries to the two victims,” he added.
The Johor Bahru South District Police Chief further advised the public not to make any speculations regarding the incident.
