PDRM in Kelantan recently raided a bungalow in Kota Bharu after receiving a tip from the public about possible illegal activity in the house.
The police were told that there was a gathering of 100 gay men in the house, and in a raid that took place at 1 AM in mid June, the police confiscated hundreds of condoms and HIV medications.
Kelantan Police Chief, Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat, however, said that when the raid was carried out, many men had left and they only managed to detain 20 of them. Yusoff said the police believe the meeting was held for illicit relations due to the discovery of condoms and HIV medication, but this activity had not yet been carried out.

The discovery of the condoms and HIV medications, however, was not the most shocking part.
“The 20 men who were detained admitted being HIV-positive, and they provided free services to those who were interested.”
“Of the 20 men involved, three of them were successfully accused in court of having videos of man-on-man illicit relations on their cellphones,” Yusoff said in a media conference today (July 17).
Yusoff added that all those who attended the gathering were Kelantanese, and that the event was also posted on social media to attract more “visitors.”

“We don’t know how serious this case is in Kelantan considering this is the first case. However, we are investigating the matter further to curb these activities.”
Earlier, the Ministry of Health revealed that nearly 1,100 university students in Malaysia were diagnosed with HIV from 2020 to 2024. Many of them were as young as 18, and some admitted that they deliberately infected others as they didn’t want to be alone.
