A violent brawl broke out at Meru Police Station on Monday (2 March) in the presence of Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officers while three men were there to lodge a report.
As reported earlier, while the complainants were in the process of filing their report, a group of five men stormed into the premises and began attacking them.


Suspects involved in the brawl at the police station have been arrested
In a recent development, PDRM confirmed that all local male suspects involved in the disturbance and fight at the police station have been arrested.
Selangor Police Chief Dato’ Pahlawan Shazeli Kahar said in a statement that the first phase of arrests involved five suspects aged between 28 and 41, who were remanded for three days starting 3 March, with the remand later extended until tomorrow (6 March).
Meanwhile, the second phase involved two men aged between 39 and 44, who were remanded for three days from 4 March to 6 March. The third phase involved a 38-year-old man who was remanded for three days from 5 March to 7 March.
“We have confirmed that all eight male suspects involved in the disturbance and fight at Meru Police Station have been successfully arrested through three separate phases of apprehension,” the statement read.


Suspects linked to murder and serious crimes
Shazeli added that record checks revealed some of the suspects have serious criminal histories, including being wanted for murder.
The Selangor Police Chief shared:
“Their past criminal records include cases of murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, attempted murder under Section 307, gang robbery under Sections 395/397, rioting with weapons, and housebreaking.
“In addition, one of the arrested suspects is a wanted individual under Section 3(1) of the Prevention of Crime Act (POCA) 1959. Urine screenings also found that one suspect tested positive for benzodiazepines, while the others tested negative.”
Following the arrests, police also seized a black helmet and an iron pipe believed to have been used in the incident to assist with the investigation.


The case is currently being investigated under Sections 148, 427, and 324 of the Penal Code, Section 90 of the Police Act 1967, and Section 6 of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Firearms Act 1958.
