A road accident at Jalan Tuaran in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah has been circulating on social media recently, showing how a rear passenger of a Perodua Bezza randomly opened the car door and caused a motorcyclist to crash.
The 34-second dashcam footage has been shared by many social media pages, including in this one by the Inforoadblock Facebook page. As of the time of writing, the video has been viewed more than 2,000 times, garnering over 126 reactions and comments.
Based on the timestamp on the dashcam video, the incident is believed to have taken place at 13.18pm on Thursday (24 August).
During the incident, traffic on the road was at a standstill, presumably while waiting for the traffic light at the junction to turn green.
A motorcyclist can then be seen going through the gaps between vehicles on the two middle lanes.
Out of nowhere, the left rear door of a black Perodua Bezza was opened by the rear passenger. The motorcyclist then tried to avoid hitting the car door but ended up crashing in the process.
The panicked passenger then can be seen repeatedly going inside the car and going out to check out what happened to the motorcyclist.
The driver of the pickup truck beside the Perodua Bezza can then be seen turning on his emergency lights and going out of the vehicle to assist the motorcyclist.
It is unknown what happened next as the video ended abruptly before showing the aftermath of the accident.
