Selangor PAS Youth is urging the authorities to intervene in the organisation of a glamping (glamorous camping) event with LGBTQ elements.
The group’s Chief, Sukri Omar, took to his Facebook page to share his belief that the event challenges societal values and national laws.

He wrote, “I take seriously the organisation of programs like this one that has gone viral, which openly promotes a perverted lifestyle, normalises gender ideology that contradicts religious values, culture and the country’s legal framework. Malaysia is not a country without values.”
“The Federal Constitution places Islam as the religion of the Federation, while the norms of Malaysian society are built based on morality, family and social well-being. The organisation of such programs is not an issue of freedom alone. It touches on the issue of public order, social morality, social security and the protection of the younger generation.”
“Tolerance does not mean allowing evil to be openly promoted”
He went on to call for the authorities to take action to prevent the event from taking place.
“I urge the relevant authorities to immediately investigate the organisation of this program and take firm action without compromise,”
“The country cannot be lax in the name of false tolerance to the point of sacrificing the values, morality and future of society. Tolerance does not mean allowing evil to be openly promoted. I call on all parties to respect this country’s legal framework and stop attempts to import foreign ideologies that contradict Malaysia’s identity.”
The organiser responds
WORLD OF BUZZ reached out to the program’s organiser, JEJAKA, who has since clarified that the glamping program is a private event that does not violate any laws.

“We wish to state clearly that this event is a private, community-based retreat focused on wellbeing, peer support and health awareness. It involves lawful camping activities at a registered venue and does not violate any Malaysian law. Camping, gathering and community education are legal activities in this country,”
“At a time when Malaysians are grappling with far more pressing national issues, including cost of living pressures, corruption and public health, it is deeply disappointing to see political energy directed toward demonising a small group of LGBT people in Malaysia for spending time in nature,” they shared.
They also highlighted that LGBTQ members of the community are not a threat to public order.
“We are citizens, workers, taxpayers, caregivers and community members. Existing peacefully, supporting one another, and learning about health and rights under the trees does not undermine the nation.”
“These are among the fundamental liberties guaranteed under the Federal Constitution.”
JEJAKA emphasised that the event will go on as planned in full compliance with the law, and that its location will only be disclosed to confirmed participants for safety reasons and to prevent public disruptions.
