According to the PDRM, they underestimated the turnout at the Turun Anwar rally, which saw around 18,000 attendees, an increase from the initial estimate of 15,000.
PAS, however, claimed the number was significantly higher, stating that the rally drew 500,000 protestors.
PAS Information Chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari urged participants not to believe the estimates reported by mainstream media and encouraged them to remain at the rally despite the rain.

A Facebook post by Kelantan PAS Youth also claimed and “confirmed” the crowd size, sharing several photos showing a large group of participants at the scene.
Meanwhile, Shahidan Kassim, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Arau (Perlis), who was present at the rally, also claimed that the crowd exceeded 500,000, based on his Facebook post yesterday.
In response to skepticism about the numbers, Shahidan urged people not to underestimate or mock the turnout, and told the media to “go back to school” if they failed their mathematics.

He also criticised the authorities for confiscating the stage and other props, including swords, which PDRM clarified were not approved by the organisers.
Yesterday, the Gerakan Rakyat Party claimed that Perikatan Nasional has up to five candidates for the next Prime Minister. Although no names were mentioned, part of the crowd appeared to have someone in mind.

Some attendees were seen carrying a banner featuring Hamzah Zainuddinâs picture with the caption:
Hamzah for PM.
Hamzah is currently the Leader of the Opposition.
To those who attended the rally yesterday, what did you think of the event?
