Malaysia’s trusted e-commerce platform, TikTok Shop, recorded over three times year-on-year (YoY) growth in the number of brands participating in its authenticity-guaranteed Mall Program following joint efforts with the government to empower local entrepreneurs with IP protection training, leading up to the year-end sales season.

Nur Azre Abdul Aziz, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, TikTok Shop Malaysia, said: “Through our continuous collaboration with the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) and Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), we have upskilled more than 300 local MSMEs and 40 enforcement officers this year with the knowledge to leverage TikTok Shop’s Intellectual Property Protection Centre (IPPC) in safeguarding homegrown brands against IP infringements. These efforts are underpinned by our robust Intellectual Property Policy and Anti-Counterfeit and Knockoff Policy, which in the second half of 2024, have resulted in over 7 million products proactively blocked from being listed globally.”

“A sustainable e-commerce ecosystem benefits both shoppers and sellers, hence we remain committed to collaborating with the government to uphold the integrity of our platform. We are encouraged that these joint efforts have resulted in more brands joining TikTok Shop Mall to solidify their market position with our 100% Authenticity Guarantee, including homegrown brands like Skinmade, Hetch, Mommyhana, SALYRA Shop, Szindore, Olive House, and more. These brands will have a strategic advantage in building trust and driving conversion during 11.11, our most anticipated and biggest sale of the year,” Azre emphasised.

Yusnieza Syarmila Yusoff, Director General of MyIPO, echoed the sentiment: “Public-private partnerships are key to establishing a sustainable e-commerce ecosystem that promotes fair competition and responsible business growth. The government, alongside trusted platforms such as TikTok Shop, have already laid strong foundations and infrastructures for local MSMEs to protect their intellectual property. However, we must recognise that this is a shared responsibility, and it is equally important for entrepreneurs to actively play a part in safeguarding their brands by registering for trademarks and actively reporting any suspected intellectual property infringement with cogent evidence through official channels.”

In support of this effort, MyIPO introduced the JenamaLOKAL300 campaign under the theme ‘Lindungi Jenama Lokal, Tembusi Pasaran Global’, to encourage more local MSMEs to register their trademarks and safeguard their brands. The initiative offers a RM300 reduction in trademark registration fees, lowering the cost to RM650 for 10 years of protection, making IP registration more accessible for small and medium enterprises seeking to grow their brands and compete on a global scale.

“It is also vital for entrepreneurs to focus on innovation and product distinction. Through continuous industry engagements and support from platforms like TikTok Shop, we hope to see more Malaysian brands expanding online and growing into household names capable of competing confidently on the global stage,” she added.

This year, TikTok Shop 11.11 Mega Sale is spotlighting special #JomLokal Flash Sale deals from Malaysians’ favourite homegrown brands, offering shoppers the opportunity to maximise their savings with market-competitive offers. Online shoppers nationwide can also enjoy Unlimited Free Shipping, stackable vouchers up to 30% off, Buy 1 Free 1 deals, and more on TikTok Shop throughout the 11.11 Mega Sale from now until 11 November.

TikTok Shop is also hosting its first on-ground 11.11 Mega Sale Carnival in Malaysia from 7 to 9 November 2025 at Pavilion Bukit Jalil Exhibition Centre, which will be open to the public from 10AM to 10PM daily. The three-day event will deliver an immersive offline-to-online (O2O) Shoppertaiment experience that seamlessly blends live entertainment with real-time e-commerce.

Malaysians can look forward to exciting performances and appearances from top local creators and celebrities, including Phei Yong, Fizo Omar, Khairul Aming, Alif Satar, Khai Bahar, and more, while discovering amazing offers across more than 60 booths at the 11.11 Mega Sale Carnival.
