Malaysian singer Aisha Retno is going through heartbreak after her concert was cancelled by the organizer due to low ticket sales. In her Instagram post @aisharetno02 last night (November 10), Aisha broke the silence and spoke about the cancellation.
To Aisha, the cancellation is an oppression towards her.
In her post, Aisha dubbed the organizer’s decision to cancel her show “unprofessional”, especially when she had not heard from them for months.
“If given the chance, I would want to perform, but it’s too late now. My show was cancelled without any discussion. They didn’t want to discuss it with me; they should’ve informed me so I would’ve known about the situation.”
The 24-year-old singer added that the cancellation has, no doubt, impacted her career in a big way as she had to suffer some losses because she had to reject some job offers as part of the deal for the show.
“That is one of the terms and conditions. I have to bear the losses because I had to reject the job offers before my concert. I didn’t know about the status of my concert since a few months back.”
“It’s your responsibility, don’t put everything on my shoulder”
Aisha also expressed what she had in mind – the marketing and financial part of the job should’ve been the organizer’s part, not hers.
“It should’ve been their job, but they threw everything at me. I don’t think that’s how you organize a concert, and their statement sounds like they are blaming me for the low ticket sales.”
Aisha also highlighted that she had never received any black and white contract from the organizer, despite the continuous requests since the release of the poster of her cancelled show.
Aisha Retno was initially scheduled to perform in Zepp KL on November 16 before her show was pulled out from the schedule, as announced by the organizer on Friday night (November 8).
