Former Permatang Pauh MP and 10th Prime Minister’s daughter, Nurul Izzah Anwar has verified that she will not be serving as senior economics and finance adviser to prime minister Anwar Ibrahim any longer.
According to Utusan Malaysia, this is due to her acceptance of an invitation to co-head a secretariat supporting the Advisory Committee to the Finance Minister.
Nurul Izzah said, “The committee chairperson ( Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican) invited me to join the secretariat and assist in efforts to strengthen the country’s and people’s economy. I humbly accept this responsibility.”
“With this new role, I will no longer serve as the senior economics and finance adviser to the PM.”
She also mentioned that she is thankful for any opportunity to contribute to the country to create a better future for it.
“Malaysians hope for a better and unified future led by the Prime Minister with the Unity Government,” she added.
“I hope that helping Tan Sri Mohd Hassan along with the other committee members will benefit our beloved nation,” she continued.
Prior to this, the father and daughter pair was accused of nepotism as the Prime Minister had appointed Nurul Izzah as his Economic and Financial adviser.
