With the restrictions being relaxed for those who are fully vaccinated, many are rushing to print out their vaccination certificates in order to enjoy the perks.

A simple search on several online shopping platforms shows that there are many vaccination certificate printing services but they have also clarified that it is only for keepsake purposes and not for official uses.

According to Utusan, Health Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali has said that individuals who want to travel interstate, interdistrict or do other social activities do not need to print out their vaccination certificate. They will have to show the said certificate on MySejahtera.

“There is no need to print out that certificate, just show your certificate on MySejahtera to the officer at the roadblock and they will look at it in detail.”

“Other than that, all individuals have a vaccination card and that can be used as proof. So far, these are the only SOPs set by the government,” the deputy minister said during a visit at the Dewan Kemas Gopeng Vaccination Centre.

He elaborated that the sale of fake vaccination certificates is a scam as the Ministry of Health (KKM) has never contracted any parties to issue any certificates.

“Other than investigations done by PDRM, the Ministry of Health will also be investigating this issue.”

“The sale of this digital certificate is a scam and with this, people can say that they have had two doses of the vaccine.”

He mentioned that there has only been one case reported in Kedah so far and that case will be investigated under Section 22 (d) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342) and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

So there you have it! If you see any fake vaccination certificates for sale, please report them to the authorities.
