Zahid explained that the decision was made in the spirit of the holy month, describing it as the ideal time to reconnect and rebuild the party’s spirit of struggle.
Zahid, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, stated:
“The holy month of Ramadan Al-Mubarak is a time that encourages Muslims to reflect, mend relationships, and strengthen brotherhood.
“In reality, a party does not rely solely on the strength of its organisational structure; it is built on the support, backing, and unity of all its members at every level.”
In this spirit, he encouraged both former members and new individuals to join the fold and “be part of this struggle.”

“All past mistakes and differences are fully forgiven”
Zahid added that the re-entry process will be coordinated immediately, following the proper procedures set out in the UMNO Constitution. He emphasised that past grievances are being set aside to focus on the party’s future.
“In the spirit of Ramadan, a month of mercy and forgiveness, all past mistakes and differences are fully forgiven to open a new chapter and strengthen the UMNO family,” he said.
“May Allah make this effort easy and turn it into a moment of unity that reinforces the party’s ability to continue its struggle for Religion, Race, and Nation.”
