News Anchor Wins Malaysians’ Hearts For His Humour & Professionalism

Recently, the internet has been flooded with the news of influencers Bryan Wee and Deacon Chai being arrested for taking “sexy” pictures in front of the Johor palace.

After the urine test, both influencers were found to have taken drugs and they are currently being investigated for the matter.

One of the news anchors who reported about this news was Tan Chia Yong from 8TV, and his face was playfully screenshotted by netizens, saying that he was “holding his laughter” while reporting the news.

In response to this, Tan posted a Facebook statement saying, “Today, a lot of people are watching me laugh…”, with the hashtags “I am not holding my laughter, it’s just a smile as I see through the world of mortals”.

His statement received 10k reactions and 2.5k shares, with many netizens praising his humour as well as professionalism as a news anchor.
