Hari Raya Aidilfitri just happened this past weekend, and loads of Malaysians were busy celebrating with their family and friends. Of course, like with any other holiday, there were thousands of Instagram posts documenting the Raya festivities – from their kuih raya to photos of their baju raya with the rest of their family members.

Local actress Izara Aishah also shared how she celebrated this year’s Raya with her 1.6 million followers on Instagram. She had even taken photos with none other than Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Siti Hasmah when she visited their home!

However, one photo in particular drew some criticism and negative responses from a number of netizens, and it was that of Izara hugging the Prime Minister. The photo, which has since  been taken down from her Instagram page, upset some netizens who thought it was inappropriate, while others thought the photo was harmless.

In light of the backlash, Izara took the photo down and posted an apology on her Instagram, saying that she regretted posting the private moment on social media and that she was always in awe every time she meets Tun M.

Well, at the end of the day, the issue has more or less been resolved, and knowing the internet, people will move on to the next controversy in a matter of seconds!
