Social media has become a channel for some netizens to show off their exorbitant lifestyle. Be it pictures of eating at fancy restaurants or journaling their travels, they’re all up for their followers to admire.
A famous Thai air hostess did just that, but with a little twist. According to Coconuts Bangkok, the Thai air hostess, going by the Instagram handler, “ticha_ek” had been posting pictures of herself in incredible holiday destinations… only they were fake!
The Emirates air hostess known as “Ticha Louktarn” currently has a whopping 150,000 followers on Instagram and she would stop at nothing to keep it going up.
Apparently, most of her photos were Photoshopped to include her in scenic and famous locations for her followers to eye with envy.
It wasn’t long until netizens caught on with the false exhibition. Ooo, kantoi!
Netizens exposed and proved that most of the background in her pictures were stolen or edited. All she needed to do was to place herself onto the background and presto, she’s there! Like that time when she ‘basked’ in the surreal aurora skies on her trip to Canada.
With technology making snapping photos underwater easily, she decided to hop on the bandwagon and produce some too. Wait a minute, that looks familiar!
You’ve got to hand it to her, she knows how to make it feel real, and she knows a thing or two about reflections.
Some netizens even pointed out that she might’ve Photoshopped herself to look like she had been working in first class for the airline, Emirates. Aiyo need or not wor?
After the shocking exposé, it was natural for her followers to develop scepticism on the authenticity of her pictures then on. They simply can’t tell the difference anymore. Though, if you took a closer look at it, some of them are pretty obviously photoshopped.
Having been confronted by the netizens’ claims, she had removed some of the photos from her Instagram.
Her notion, however has inspired other Thais to aptly replicate the satire by Photoshopping themselves into those sceneries too.
So don’t be surprised if your Thai friends or colleagues are suddenly posting selfies of dreamy locations such as Paris, or even at a Coldplay Concert and still be able to make it to work on the next day. Ok but for real, who so free do these things right?
Maybe Malaysians need to start jumping on this band wagon too! 😉
