Over the past year, major cities in Malaysia have become remarkably different places, in response to the ongoing pandemic which has resulted in lesser activities carried out in public and shared spaces.
Like most public spaces, The Curve in Damansara were one of those locations which were made to witness the loss of more department stores and face a struggle to remain relevant in almost post-pandemic Malaysia.
Here is what this netizen had to say.
“The Curve is dead. This place used to be buzzing. We used to hang out here after school. The Laundry Bar was the place where the cool kids wanted to be seen.”
“Meanwhile, not too far away, One Utama is still buzzing, still busy, still thriving. Parking is still difficult to find.”
“The tale of two malls.”
Receiving more than 2k retweets, netizens had mixed responses to this netizen’s post.
“The Curve is not ‘dead’. It is closed for a major redevelopment and rebranding, while The Curve is still operating, but yeah, we can say it’s past its prime.”
One thing clear to us all now is that the retail landscape will not be what it used to be, and we can expect more changes to come in the following years.
