Neelofa Fined RM20,000 For Violating SOPs At Wedding & Breaching Interstate Travel Ban

Celebrity entrepreneur Neelofa along with her husband and 20 other family members have been fined a total of RM60,000 for violating standard operating procedures (SOP) during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

According to Astro Awani, Neelofa will have to pay compounds totalling RM20,000 for two offences.

Kuala Lumpur Dang Wangi District Police Chief, ACP Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said for the first offence, Neelofa has been fined RM10,000 for violating the SOPs at her wedding ceremony, with no discounts allowed.

For the second offence, Neelofa has been fined RM10,000 for violating the interstate travel ban by using a work permit to travel to Langkawi.

Meanwhile, her husband PU Riz, has also been fined RM10,000 for violating the interstate travel ban with no discount allowed.

Additionally, 20 of Neelofa’s family members were fined RM1,500 each, amounting to RM30,000, for failing to adhere to the physical distancing of at least one metre during the wedding ceremony.

Neelofa and PU Riz’s got married on 27 March at a hotel where the lavish and exclusive event took place. A few days later, the couple reportedly visited the island of Langkawi, which they claimed was just a business trip.

However, photos of the couple strolling in the tourist area on the island went viral on social media, after which they were put under investigation.
