Tomorrow (22 May) is the day Malaysians have all been waiting for, as Najib is finally going in to give his statement to facilitate the investigation involving SRC International Sdn Bhd.

According to Malaysiakini, the appointment is set at 10am at the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters and Dato’ Seri Najib Razak must show up, or he could end up being charged.

“If he fails to turn up to give his statement, he can be charged under the MACC Act 2009,” MACC deputy chief Azam Baki said.

It was understood that last Friday (18th May), a team of MACC officers came to the former prime minister’s house in Taman Duta to deliver the notice, requiring his presence at the headquarters.

In case you’re wondering what this case is all about, SRC is owned by the Ministry of Finance and was also a former subsidiary company of the scandal-clad 1MDB. It was reported that a jaw-dropping RM42million was transferred from the company into Najib’s private account.

Anyway, Malaysians are eager to know what Najib will be telling the MACC tomorrow and we surely hope he won’t book another flight this time, otherwise he could be in trouble!
