We’re sure you’ve all heard that Malaysia’s very own burger restaurant, myBurgerLab, just announced their brand-new Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang Burger, and it looks absolutely mouth-watering!
The popular local restaurant recently took to Twitter to make the announcement, where they threw a little shade at Singapore, who also just came out with a nasi lemak burger in conjunction with their national day celebrations.
myBurgerLab told Channel NewsAsia that the burger was released in line with Malaysia’s 60th Independence Day celebrations. They went on to explain that the burger was made as “a response to everyone who tagged us and requested for this burger to be made, because Malaysia didn’t have it.”
“We actually had this recipe since three years ago, but we decided not to launch it because we felt it was a boring product. We thought: “Why would you eat a nasi lemak burger when you can have nasi lemak?”
Dang, they really went there!
Of course, as soon as Singaporeans caught wind of this announcement, they definitely weren’t happy about it. Mediacock Singapore even decided to respond sarcastically to myBurgerLab’s post.
…Are these guys really out here trying to pick a fight over a burger?
Well, like it or not, Malaysia and Singapore both have their nasi lemak burgers now, so can everyone calm down and enjoy their food already? Where’s the love, lah?
