“Everlasting love” – M’sians Moved by Elderly Couple Holding Hands & Slowly Walking to Go Makan

A Malaysian’s encounter with a sweet elderly couple slowly walking together while holding hands to go eat out at an eatery together pulled on the heartstrings of netizens and went viral on social media.

Shared by @mohammadzamree on TikTok, many Malaysians were moved by the sight of the elderly couple, garnering over 1.2 million views and more than 120,400 likes on the platform as of the time of writing.

 

Malaysians were moved by the ‘everlasting love’ shown by an elderly couple

In the video recorded from inside the vehicle, the elderly couple can be seen slowly walking on the grass by the side of the road, with both visibly struggling with every step.

As they hold hands, the wife leads her husband through each step, with both of them also stopping to hold on to a post and wired fence for balance.

@mohammadzamree gave further context to the video, revealing that he offered the elderly couple a lift in his car but they declined, saying that they were just walking to eat out at a nearby eatery

In the caption, @mohammadzamree shared,

“TRUE LOVE… I didn’t have the heart to see them struggling like that…

“I offered them a ride but they declined… They said they were just going to eat nearby ?”

Many prayed for the elderly couple to be given health and prosperity

In the comments, many Malaysians were moved by the elderly couple’s apparent love for each other even after potentially decades of being married and hoped that their relationships could last as long.

Several commenters prayed for the elderly couple to be given health and prosperity as they live their old age together.

Furthermore, several commenters were also saddened by the sight as the elderly couple reminded them of their own parents.

Besides that, one commenter claims that the elderly couple exemplifies everlasting love, something that is rare in this day and age.
