A local woman’s disdain for her husband, who allegedly spent his whole salary on Guest Relations Officers (GROs) at an entertainment centre in Sri Petaling, has led to the Immigration Department (JIM) running an operation to raid the premises.
According to a report by Sinar Harian, a 30-year-old woman had complained about her husband getting caught up at the entertainment centre for the past year. This led him to spend his salary on GROs there and fail to provide for his household.

“My husband’s salary money is spent going to the club to find Vietnamese women,”
“Previously, my husband would give me money for household expenses. But, since he has been going to the nightclub every month, his salary has been spent on the club alone. He often goes to the club in question, he goes there several times a week,” she said, adding that action should be taken against the club.
JIM arrested 34 people
Following this complaint, JIM Kuala Lumpur carried out ‘Op Gegar’ at the entertainment centre today (February 13) at 12:40am.
After checking 90 individuals of various nationalities, both patrons and employees of the premises, JIM ended up arresting 34 people including 27 women aged between 20 and 30.

“A review of the arrests found that 3 were local citizens, Thailand (16 people), Laos (6 people), Myanmar (5 people) and Vietnam (4 people),”
“The detained women are suspected of being customer service girls (GROs) who receive tips from customers for drinking and entertainment, while the local citizens are believed to be the manager, the bouncer and the guardian of the foreign women involved,” Kuala Lumpur Immigration Director, Wan Mohammed Saupee Wan Yusoff, shared.
They were detained for various offences including not having a valid pass or permit, and violating their permit conditions.
The detained foreigners were taken to the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot to be investigated in accordance with the Immigration Act 11959/63 and Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963.
The locals who were detained, on the other hand, will be investigated under Section 56(1)(d) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for protecting illegal immigrants (PATI).
