Tales of the unworldly can sometimes be a source of entertainment or just an incidental story to fill our time. But what happens when these situations cross over into the real world and make us think, could there be credence to these instances?
A recent TikTok clip seemed to exemplify this concern when Malaysian poster Najwa Shahizam shared an eerie moment which took place at her house. Sharing the video to her page @mcwa94_, Najwa’s video contained closed circuit television (CCTV) footage of her porch at about 3.49am a few days ago.
Showing the outside of her house door and grill, nothing interesting occurs at first. However, halfway through the clip, the front door of Najwa’s house opens slightly. The most disturbing part of the clip was the sound the door made as it opened. Making a sinister screech, it resembled that of a scream.
“This happened in the morning when everyone was asleep. At 6.30am, my husband realised what happened as he got up to get ready for work,” wrote Najwa in a caption of the video.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Najwa stated that she had been busy preparing items at around 12am the night before for her online business. After completing her tasks, she said that she had locked the front door of her house before heading to bed.
“Around 3.40am, my child started crying. We always put my baby in the cot to sleep, but when he woke up, he was lying in between my husband and I on our bed. It seemed pretty impossible, because if he climbed over us, there is no way either my husband or I wouldn’t woken up in the process. We are both light sleepers,” she said to WORLD OF BUZZ.
At 6.30am, Najwa’s husband realised that the door had been open from the night before. Knowing that she had locked it, Najwa explained her bewilderment towards the situation, as the door possessed two locks to secure it shut. However, things got more mysterious after Najwa decided to inspect the CCTV footage from inside her house.
“The CCTV footage inside my house had been wiped from evening until night time. From then until now, I have been checking the footage daily, just to see if it could have been a person. I know I locked the doors that night, and no person opened it. I don’t think it was an Earthly force,” added Najwa.
Receiving various responses since posting the video, a couple of commenters suggested to Najwa that it may have been an issue of not locking the door properly, while others stated that she should invest in adding another lock to the front door.
Nevertheless, multiple users also shared that they have encountered similar experiences in their own homes, be it with flickering lights or doors opening on their own.
“I have had light and fan switches in my house turn on by themselves and I chose to never turn them on,” shared one user.

Concluding her thoughts on the matter, Najwa stated that other instances have taken place in her house that bring her to believe that it may not be a humanly figure around her premises.
“I believe there is something here that just wants to make itself known or make us aware that it is around,” said Najwa to WORLD OF BUZZ.
