When hunger strikes, there’s nothing better than a hearty meal to nourish all the cravings that are plaguing one’s mind. However, there’s something to be said about bite-sized menu items that can do just the trick of a full dish.
A recent TikTok video has been making waves online after a Malaysian user named Pijat shared a rather peculiar order he received while dining at a café in Muallim, Perak. Sharing his order in a video to his TikTok page @ijatwhat, the user revealed what an RM1.70 chicken chop dish looked like.
Initially delighted by the price, the group were tickled to see the cute pocket-sized item land on the table.
Arranged neatly on a plate, the RM1.70 order of chicken chop consisted of a nugget-sized piece of meat and five French fries. Unable to hold back their amusement over the order, Pijat and his group of friends stare in fascination over the chicken chop before digging into it eventually.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Pijat noted that the eatery also had other regular dishes that were scaled down in portion, but priced at a reasonable amount.
Making waves online, multiple commenters spoke in defence of the order.
“I don’t think you’d expect a piece of chicken there for RM1.70, so I think the price is comparatively fine,” penned one user.
On the other hand, other people also commented on how the portion is suitable for people who are either small eaters or are looking to cut down on their calorie consumption.
“It’s appropriate for people who are on a diet but are still craving fried food,” light-heartedly added one commenter.
However, there were also multiple others who couldn’t help but make jokes at the dish’s expense, saying that it should have been named “chicken chip” instead, to reflect its minute size.
