Malaysia’s New Economic Model Debate between Minister of Economy, Rafizi Ramli and Member of Parliament for Bachok, Mohd Syahir Sulaiman took place last night (August 9), in what can be considered a historic moment as never before has a debate between a Federal Minister and an MP from the Opposition (PAS) been broadcasted.
Though, despite the significance of the debate, many are now focused on something MP Bachok Mohd Syahir shared during the programme.
Astro Awani took to their Twitter page to showcase a (really weird) poem Mohd Syahir shared, which kind of reminds us of that Lady Gaga song, Bad Romance.
Here’s the poem:
“Ruh, ruh, ruh; Neh, neh, neh; Buang yang keruh; Ambil yang jernih.”
This loosely translates to “Ruh, ruh, ruh; Neh, neh, neh; Discard the murky; Take the clear.”
He allegedly said this against Minister of Economy Rafizi Ramli, insinuating that the Federal Government is dirty while his political party, PAS, is clean.
Many have since had a field day by sharing their opinions and memes in regards to Mohd Syahir’s poem.
“If you want to become the government by being good at poetry, primary school students also can become ministers.”
“People asked him to debate by giving ideas, but he is only smart in giving a poem.”
“Weyh, so embarrassing, his level of poetry is just like a Form 1 student.”
“In 5 more years, he can try competing in Pentas Maharaja Lawak Mega (a stand up comedy show).”
You can check out the video of Mohd Syahir sharing his poem here:
