There are several ways you can come into contact with carcinogens, such as through inhalation, ingestion or absorption. In this TikTok video, this netizen shared how you can come into contact with carcinogens by eating THIS cabbage dish.
In the video entitled, “Scientific Review: Fried Cabbage Can Cause Cancer?” here is what this netizen has to say.
“Do not eat this dish any more. It can lead you to cancer,” he explained.
“Whenever a dish is fried in such a way, to the point where it is burnt like this, there is a chemical reaction that is taking place. We call it the Maillard Reaction which will create a compound known as Acrylamide – a carcinogen associated with a higher risk of cancer.”
“It exposes us to Acrylamide, which sits in Group 2A. Though it is carcinogenic, more data is needed to confirm this theory,” he shared.
“Data aside, it is not as though you can’t indulge in the dish once in a blue moon, and cancer does not come to you in a day. It is multi-factorial.”
