If you’re facing challenges with weight loss, you understand that there are no quick fixes. No single food or beverage should be seen as a magic solution for shedding pounds.

A nutritionist took to her X (formerly known as Twitter) to share a story about a patient who was looking to lose weight. In her post, @JazeeraJulaili shares a breakdown of the safety of the so-called weight loss coffee.

Jazz disclosed that one of her patients, a woman in her 30s, is experiencing permanent health problems as a result of prolonged use of a particular weight loss coffee.

The nutritionist disclosed that her patient had been consuming the coffee since 2022 and had successfully shed around 10 to 20 kilograms.

Believing it to be effective, the patient continued its consumption unaware of the potential consequences.

Decreased kidney function confirmed

Jazz continued to reveal how as time pass, the patient began experiencing side effects on her body, leading to more serious health problems.

“Since she began drinking the coffee, her health has deteriorated steadily each day. It reached a critical point when she fainted and had to be rushed to the emergency department.”

Upon arriving at the emergency department, the patient was given the news confirming a decline in kidney function.

Jazz then concluded the post with advice that reads,

“I’m not keen on sharing stories like this because I believe the public is already aware of the risks associated with consuming weight loss products. It’s a friendly reminder that sometimes the path to weight loss can be slow but steady. Remember to be patient with yourself.”

Netizens began pouring their thoughts into the comment section, expressing their views on the situation

“Let’s steer clear of promoting weight loss supplements as a quick fix. They can have serious long-term side effects. Instead, focus on controlling your diet, staying in a calorie deficit, and getting regular exercise. Remember, weight loss is a journey.”

“If you don’t have insurance to cover the cost of your dialysis, don’t even consider taking unnecessary supplements like this. The expense of dialysis can be extremely high. If you’re aiming to lose weight, focus on exercise and a balanced diet. Let the process be gradual but safe.”
