Malaysian students are some of the smartest and most creative kids out there.

And here’s proof of that.

According to the Ministry of Education (KPM), Malaysian students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Setiawangsa, Kuala Lumpur and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato’ Penggawa Timur, Johor, took the top spot for both categories at the International Science Drama Competition 2024 at Beijing, China, organised by the Science Centre Singapore.

KPM wrote, “Team Malaysia has brought glory to the country by becoming the champion of both categories they competed in at the International Science Drama Competition 2024 in Beijing, China.”

“The Sekolah Kebangsaan Setiawangsa, Kuala Lumpur, won the primary school category while the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato’ Penggawa Timur, Johor, was crowned the champion of the open category.”

Based on the competition’s Facebook page, the Malaysian students had gone against competitors from Singapore, China and Thailand, to promote science through plays in accordance with this year’s theme, Global Sustainability: Nations in Action.

KPM also thanked Petrosains for their assistance in ensuring that Team Malaysia put on a winning show!

“Thanks to our strategic partner, Petrosains, who worked together with the Ministry of Education in organising the competition at a national level and helped to prepare the teams to face the competition at the international level. Congratulations to all the winners,” KPM added.

A huge kudos to the students for making Malaysia proud!
