A mother recently took to social media, claiming that her child was allegedly made to do squats (ketuk ketampi) as a form of punishment at school.
In her post, she shared that her child came home with sore legs, and after asking what happened, he explained that he had been asked to do 30 squats by the disciplinary teacher.

“Schools have a ‘money or punishment’ system too?”
The child shared that his class had been labelled the dirtiest in school, and as a result, everyone was told to either pay a 50-cent fine or do squats.
Unfortunately for him, he didn’t have 50 cents on him at the time, and he ended up being the only one made to do 30 squats.
The caption of the post reads,
“My kid came home with a sore leg today. He told me he had to do 30 squats yesterday, all because his class was labelled the dirtiest. The discipline teacher gave the punishment, but he was the only one who had to do it because he didn’t have 50 cents. The other students just paid the fine and got off the hook.
So now schools have a ‘money or punishment’ system too?”

Her child had to do 20 extra squats for not paying
In a separate post, the woman explained that the entire class was punished with 10 squats and had to pay 50 cents on the spot. She claimed that students who didn’t have the money were made to do an additional 20 squats.
“Since their class was labelled the dirtiest, every student had to do 10 squats and pay 50 sen immediately. My kid didn’t have any money on him, so he ended up doing 30 squats. This morning, he woke up with sore legs.”
She also shared that her child doesn’t usually bring money to school as he brings packed food from home every day.
“I’ve now stuffed an extra 50 cents into his school bag pocket.”
