We’ve all seen viral videos or even had the unfortunate experience of facing irresponsible road users who tailgate their vehicles closely at toll booths so that they can avoid paying for tolls at expressways in our country.

Well, a recent video depicts just that but with a satisfying twist, whereby the driver of the vehicle tailgated was having none of it and confronted the perpetrator.

Going viral on X (formerly Twitter) with over 335,000 views and more than 2,200 likes as of the time of writing, the video was recorded from the rear passenger seat of the vehicle being tailgated as it stopped at the boom gate of the toll booth to block the tailgating car from exiting the toll plaza.

The driver of the vehicle being tailgated can then be seen confronting the tailgating car about trying to avoid paying the toll.

After giving the perpetrator a stern warning, the tailgating car then reversed before the driver of the vehicle being tailgated returned to his vehicle.

The vehicle that was being tailgated then drove away, with the video showing the boom gate closing just as it left, foiling the perpetrator’s attempt at a free ride through the expressway.

“If you don’t want to pay for tolls, use roads with no tolls”

The video was shared by X user @ricxxxkiddo, who in the caption wrote that the driver who attempted to tailgate was really embarrassing as they were driving an expensive car brand but didn’t want to pay for tolls.

In the replies, Malaysians gave their 2 cents about the incident and shared their own experiences of facing a similar situation. One commenter joked that maybe the tailgating car driver had spent all of their money on the vehicle instalment, hence why they can’t pay for tolls.

Meanwhile, another commenter praised how the driver of the vehicle being tailgated handled the situation and stopped the other car from avoiding paying for tolls.

Besides that, one Malaysian gave a simple reminder for those trying to do the same as the tailgating driver, saying that if you don’t want to pay for tolls, just use roads with no tolls.
