18yo M’sian Killed Right in Front of His 4 Siblings After a Lorry Loses Control & Crashes into Their Kancil

A lorry driver lost control of his vehicle in the rain and accidentally hit a Perodua Kancil, killing the car’s 18-year-old driver.

All 4 passengers of the Kancil survived, but 2 of them suffered major injuries, while the other 2, as well as the lorry driver, sustained minor injuries.

The 18-year-old driver passed away at the scene due to serious head and chest injuries. According to the Jempol District Police Chief, Superintendent Norhisham Mustafar, he said the fatal accident took place at 2:56 PM yesterday (August 18) on Jalan Besar Palong in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan.

The accident involved a Perodua Kanci and an Isuzu lorry, and the 57-year-old lorry driver was headed to Palong 16 towards Palong 9, 10, and 11.

The deceased Kancil driver and his passengers came from the opposite direction, as they were headed home during the accident.

The lorry is believed to have lost control due to heavy rain and then swerved and entered the opposite lane before hitting the Perodua Kancil, in which the driver tried to avoid the lorry, but to no avail.  It was too late, and he ended up colliding with the lorry.

The deceased’s siblings are aged 16, 14,11, and 3 years old, respectively.

Norhisham said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving, reported China Press and Sinar Harian.

The police call on any witnesses or persons with information to contact Investigating Officer Mohammad Faizal Haika of the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division of the Rembau Police District to assist with the investigation.
